The Work
I was a freelance designer for Clay, a B2B tech company that uses AI to reimagine sales prospecting and CRM tools. I worked alongside the head of marketing to design and build web landing pages to increase SEO visibility, drive user conversion, and enhance user education.

PROCESS

Comparative Analysis and Iterations were my best friends.
Because Clay's user base was increasing rapidly as a growing startup, time and resources were limited for conducting extensive user research. I found that researching existing user experiences and interactions was essential in ideating pages that would be straightforward and simple. I also found that always designing multiple iterations was extremely important in exploring different solutions, assessing their effectiveness, and narrowing it down.
DESIGNS
1
Onboarding
Designing a straightforward questionnaire to onboard users before they enter the product.
Considerations
Pop-Up Interface

Slow to load, distracting
Multi-page click-through questionnare

Users are unclear of how long it will take
2
Data Integrations
How might we allow users to filter through data integrations and view the data inputs and outputs for each integration, in a digestible and clear way?
Considerations
Scalability and Adaptability

What format and layout visually communicates the information effectively, while being adaptable to different text lengths, icon sizes, and data inputs?

REFINEMENT
Creating design specifications and providing feedback during QA.
After building and finalizing designs, I created design specifications to explain the requirements to developers. Following V1 development, I also provided feedback for any issues or adjustments, which was a great opportunity to deliver projects from ideation to execution.

Reflection
This was my first official freelance job, and I gained so much insight into what sales prospecting is, the fast-paced startup culture, and web design in the tech space! I learned a ton about managing multiple projects, taking initiative, and that you don't need to "reinvent the wheel", but use it to your advantage.

I learned something new about myself, which is that I actually really enjoy the flexibility, ownership, cross-functional interactions, and fulfillment that comes from delivering projects and seeing them go live.

I'm so grateful to everyone at Clay for this incredible opportunity, and I admire the company so much! It's amazing to see its growth, innovation, and creative approach to branding!
